​How to motivate your team

Every success largely depends on cooperation of all parties involved. However, in any workplace where there is no motivation, employees are likely to avoid the responsibility and try to toss it to others. If employees are bored or don’t want to work, it is important to give them motivation to work. There are seven techniques to create a highly motivated workforce:

1. Building unity in the workplace: It will be helpful to communicate with employees about the goals of the organization and the employees’ roles to reach such goals. Make them understand how easier the team can achieve the goals if they work closely with each other and how the team’s goals impact their personal goals;

2. Giving them the power to make a decision: Everybody has to be responsible for their job so they should be given the power to make a decision on their own. Having such power will make it challenging for an employee to complete his job and develop himself;

3. Creating a team with a bond like the same family: Personal matters usually affect people’s work. A boss or colleague who is close to you will assist in maintaining balance between your work and personal life. Thus, they can help you through hard times;

4. Having fun at work: You spend more time in the workplace than your home so it will be helpful if you can create a workplace with minimum stress. If you are not stressed, it is likely that you can overcome hard situations. Stress is the worst enemy of creativity. If you can reduce stress, you will generate more creative ideas. If a boss creates a work environment where there are both solemnity and fun, it indicates that he understands his subordinates. Motivation is not too difficult to be created if there is a strong bond between colleagues;

5. Celebrating success: You should reward yourself so that you feel the success. This will help reduce your tiredness from hard work;

6. Creating growth opportunities for team members: The team members should be given an opportunity to enhance their skills and career progress. This will motivate them to work even harder; and

7. Understanding personal goals: A team can create a motivation to work less than personal desire to have success in life. The goals of teams and individuals are more likely to be achieved if they complement each other since everyone is working towards the same outcome. When team members try to understand each other’s situations, a bond between them will be generated.

If a team has a good motivation to work, the boss and subordinates as well as all colleagues will be able to work together happily and eagerly. If there is any problem, they can reasonably discuss it. That’s all it takes for the team to be able to work together effectively.
