Job Description
Role and Area Responsibilities:
- Leads complex financial analysis for a broad business or finance function, exercising a strong understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives.
- Masters the entire business strategic planning and operational budgeting.
- Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis to the business.
- Consults with business leaders to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., long-term business planning, project financial target, product analysis and development, balancing risk, approving significant deals, etc.).
- Proactively drives process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function broadly.
- Actively reviews, analyzes, and manages the key controls within the domain of responsibility to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements (e.g., Accounting Policy, Tax Compliance and Standard Business Conduct).
- Provides leadership during implementation of business-wide programs and products.
- Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
- Ad hoc reporting to Management on special project.
Qualification:
- Background in accounting or finance and an advanced business degree.
- Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
- Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
- Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and public influencing speaking skills.
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
- Must have experience analyzing data to make recommendations on financial and organizational strategy.
- Understanding generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), budgeting and data analysis, today's CFOs need to have solid leadership and management chops - the "soft skills" of effective communication, conflict management and negotiation.
- Individuals in this role must forecast and offer strategic direction to the organization based not only on internal data but also on the external environment - regulatory, market and macroeconomic - and be able to advise on industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
- CPA is a strong advantage.
- M.Sc./M.A. in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is a preferred.
