Chief Innovation Officer
The Chief Innovation Officer is responsible for ideation, strategy creation and all product management activities required to bring a new solution to the market. In this role, the Chief Innovation Officer will serve as the overall owner of product development and strategically focus on the specific and unique needs of our clients, prospects, and channel partners, and identify and introduce products and capabilities that drive continued profitable growth.
The successful candidate shall be detail and data driven, strategic, motivated, have a forward leaning approach to business, and have excellent collaboration skills with all levels of the organization.
Responsibility:
Build a five-year innovation pipeline that drives growth in accordance with the company's operating agenda and strategy as well as recognize promising ideas and finds way to introduce them into the plan.
Responsible for all product management functions and contribute to the execution of the Innovation strategy as established by the business.
Leverage technical expertise and integrated with business acumen to contribute to concept development and execution.
Actively participate in innovation processes on behalf of the Incubator and the company, including leading efforts to integrate technical expertise to the processes where appropriate.
Work with key internal and external stakeholders to establish best practices around innovation processes, dependable concept hand-off and integrated project plans for utilizing expertise, information, and functionality.
Has the executive presence and business acumen to present pro forma financials to key stakeholders and is able to justify the ROI for all products presented in the innovation pipeline.
Provides periodic postmortem analysis and implements improvements that enhance speed and effectiveness.
Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver expected results of the Incubator.
Foster a culture of innovation and learning within the incubator and across the organization.
Foster relationships outside of the company to introduce new avenues towards innovation development.
Qualification:
Possesses the technical acumen to drive creative, out of the box thinking for our end markets Is able to demonstrate how the innovations produced were transformative to the industry and the end markets served. In general, a solid understanding of innovation and how it should be applied in business.
Demonstrate that you are a confident, driven, and dynamic leader in a team with at least 10 direct/indirect reports with at least 15 years' experience.
15 years' experience in R&D (Flour or Ingredient or related fields) and a Master or Ph.D 's degree in Food technology, Biotechnology, Chemistry or related field of Science with focus on strategy, management and technical sale support.
Strong business acumen and presentation skills
Highly proficient at project planning, budgeting, and oversight
Minimum 5 years' experience in innovation, 15 years 'experience R&D, or product development required.
Experience managing cross-functional teams preferred.
Excellent leadership and mentoring skills with an outstanding listener and communicator.
Excellent facilitator who fosters an open exchange of ideas and create an atmosphere of open communication.
