Job Description:
The Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) plays a critical role in championing and ensuring a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance within the company.

  • This position is responsible for guiding the development and implementation of EHS programs, standards, and initiatives in alignment with company strategy.
  • The Director of EHS supports country management in achieving excellence in EHS results and actively contributes to a safe and sustainable working environment.
  • The Director of Environmental Health and Safety is a key leader responsible for shaping and ensuring a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible work environment.
  • This role demands a deep commitment to EHS excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in line with industry best practices.
    Key Responsibilities:
  • EHS Strategy and Program Development:
  • Collaborate with Country Management to deploy EHS objectives and develop programs aligned with company strategy.
  • Drive initiatives that prioritize accident and incident prevention, and establish processes for reporting, recording, investigation, and analysis.
  • Certification Leadership:
  • Lead ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 re-certification processes, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • EHS Network Leadership:
  • Lead the EHS network in the country, including staffing support for new projects.
  • Conduct induction programs for new EHS personnel in the country, fostering a culture of safety.
  • Technical Guidance and Support:
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site teams, supporting end-to-end project execution processes in the country.
  • Ensure the deployment of EHS standards across all projects/sites.
  • Tender Phase Support:
  • Collaborate with Site, Projects, or Country Directors during tender phases to address EHS questions.
  • Ensure robust EHS plans are established for tenders originating from the Cluster, in coordination with the Region EHS Director.
  • EHS Management System Development:
  • Develop and maintain an EHS Management System in line with Alstom EHS processes, local legal requirements, and international standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
  • Legal Compliance and Monitoring:
  • Organize legal watch at the country level and monitor compliance with all relevant country statutory, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements.

  • EHS Culture and Continuous Improvement:
  • Foster a strong EHS culture within the country by influencing EHS performance, facilitating change, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Auditing and Reporting:
  • Become a recognized Alstom auditor and contribute to the delivery of the Group & Transport audit program.
  • Monitor and analyze EHS performance, ensure standard reporting is accurate, and deliver EHS Management reports.
    Qualifications:
  • University degree in Engineering or any related major.
  • Recognized Health and Safety Qualification to Diploma or Degree level.
  • Significant experience in EHS function within a relevant industrial context in the country.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18011 certifications.
  • Good knowledge of EHS regulations applicable within the country.
  • Knowledge of the railway industry is a plus, and operational experience outside EHS is desirable.
    * Proficiency in both spoken and written Thai and English languages is required.
