Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the implementation, performance, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS) across flight operations and maintenance.
  • Direct and support occurrence/defect reporting, internal investigations, hazard identification, safety risk assessments, and corrective/preventive actions, aligned with TCAR 8 Part 145, TCAR OPS, and other applicable regulations.
  • Lead and participate in Safety Action Group meetings to support decision-making and system enhancement for Safety Review Board and Management Evaluation Review meetings.
  • Liaise with CAAT and other aviation authorities on safety compliance, audits, inspections, and documentation concerning TCAR 8 Part 145 (Maintenance), TCAR OPS (Operations), aircraft state registration of aircraft management, and other safety requirements.
  • Oversee the safety management aspects of Aircraft Management, ensuring all activities comply with the requirements of the aircraft's state of registration, including adherence to the relevant regulations and safety standards of the state authority.
  • Develop, track, and report Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) and Safety Performance Targets (SPTs) and recommend improvements where safety objectives are not being met.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in aviation safety management, including ICAO Annexes and international standards.
  • Ensure the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is established, implemented, exercised, and maintained effectively.
  • Supervise safety databases and Flight Data Analysis Program (FDAP) for proactive risk management in operations and maintenance.
    *Coordinate and support external safety audits and inspections, including documentation and follow-up actions related to operational, maintenance, and aircraft management safety.

Qualification:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in aviation and/or quality assurance or combination thereof required
  • Holding an Aviation Degree or CAAT Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License, EASA Part 66 B1 / B2 License, FAA A&P or other National Aviation Authority equivalent preferable
  • Previous experience / exposure to CAAT or other National Aviation Authorities preferable
  • Above average knowledge of aviation regulations (CAAT primary, FAA and/or EASA also desirable)
  • Must be fluent in English, other languages desirable
  • Effective communication / interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate or above average knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Technical writing
