Position Summary
Our company is interested in hiring a Transport Operations Manager NDC & Regional who can work closely with our contractor and employee drivers to maximize expenditures and deliver the highest possible level of service to our customers. The successful candidate will streamline routes with drivers to keep costs down, but still deliver the level of service customers are expecting. He/she will also be responsible for meeting regularly with drivers, dispatchers and maintenance team members to discuss ways to meet or exceed corporate revenue goals
This role has the responsibility for the allocation of resources, both internal and external in order to achieve our delivery on time and in full commitments to our client and their customers.
Job Accountabilities
Operational

  • Lead and Manage 6 transport sites in Central, North , South and Northern East

  • Lead and Manage company fleet around and coaching team Staffs both Contractor and Company employee.

  • Implement new way of working with TMS related.

  • Produce budget, resource and capital planning and daily / weekly / monthly key performance reporting and analysis to ensure the most efficient and cost effective transport operation.

  • Maintain a focus on continuous improvement in all areas of operations within own fleet department

  • Implement initiatives that ensure cost containment, maximize profit and meet budget and customer objectives.

  • Developing and maintaining an effective interface between shuttle , warehouse , Factory operational, transport and administration personnel.

  • Involvement in negotiation of Enterprise Agreements and other IR matter to ensure good labour relations are maintained.

  • Acting in accordance with corporate values and ensuring other employees do the same.

    Collaborate with human resources to add quality employee drivers and contracted drivers to the fleet

  • Work closely with the maintenance team to find ways to reduce downtime due to repairs or lack of routine maintenance

  • Others transport or project assignments as directed.

    Safety

  • Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to implement the Occupational health & safety Policy, health and safety procedures and legislative requirements.

  • Monitor and supervise the health and safety through formal participation in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control Planning, workplace inspections, pre-purchase evaluations etc. and informally through work site visits and discussions with staff.

  • Participate where required in the resolution of safety issues.

  • Review all accidents/incidents and corrective action reports.

  • Review any health and safety related reports, and take appropriate action.

  • Participate in Health & safety Committees.

  • Ensure consultation with employee health and safety representatives ,particularly in Hazard Identification, Risk Control planning and on any workplace changes which have

  • Communicate regularly on relevant OH&S matters and review the health and safety

  • Ensure all employees/contractors are inducted and receive regular training's required to perform their job safely.

  • Allocate adequate time and resources for the Health & safety Program.

  • Maintain Health & safety documentation and records in accordance with Company Safety System requirements.

    Job Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering , Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Logistics Management, or any related fields.

  • > 7 years' experience in provision of third party logistics services in management level

  • Good command of written and spoken English.

  • Must be reliable with strong management and leadership skills.

  • Mature, problem solver and able to perform well under pressure in tough situations

  • Extensive background comprising of on the job training, work experience, administrative systems and specific skills development within a beverage environment and transport

  • Good working knowledge of office information systems and computer skills.

  • Staff management experience, including negotiation and communication skills.

  • Change management and leadership skills.

  • Previous management experience and a sound knowledge of transport services.

  • Good understanding of legislation applicable to the workplace and ability to act in accordance with (but not limited to) OH&S guidelines, duty of care responsibilities, chain of responsibility legislation, Drug & Alcohol policy, all Bevchain workplace policies.

  • Able to travel between sites.
