Vice President, Operations (Food Manufacturing)

The ideal applicant for the position of Vice President of Manufacturing (food sector) should possess technical manufacturing knowledge, supply chain expertise, and leadership abilities.
They should have a bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, business administration, or a related profession. In addition, the ideal applicant must have at least 15 years of expertise managing large-scale food production or supply chain activities. Additionally, they must demonstrate success in establishing and directing teams and procedures to enhance efficiency and save money. In order to effectively cooperate with internal and external stakeholders, the successful applicant must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Description:

  • Lead and manage the overall production of the food manufacturing facility.

  • Oversee daily operations, development, and implementation of processes and procedures.

  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and quality control standards.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and customers.

  • Manage staff, hiring and training

  • Provide leadership and direction for employees

  • Overseeing all plant operations in Bangkok and Lamphun, including bakery and food manufacturing, in both terms of strategic planning and plant operation to achieve company growth objectives

  • leading and driving change and transformation in the manufacturing operations of both sites.

  • overseeing the technical and professional development of the manufacturing operations function to obtain optimum productivity, supply chain efficiency, expected performance, safety, and improvement process objectives.

  • Monitoring product standards, implementing quality-control programs, and determining quality control standards

  • Identifying and analyzing manufacturing improvement opportunities through integration, relocation, and expansion (long-term strategy).

  • taking part in meaningful metrics implementation, routine review of performance against those metrics, formulation and management of corrective actions (emerging threats and risks to the operation), and identification and standardization of best practices

  • Driving quality performance and discipline across divisions using KPIs and performance metrics relevant to each division or location

  • Collaborating with Commercial and Research & Innovation functions on raw material sourcing for total internal and external customer satisfaction, new product developments, rapid prototyping, pilot operations, and the implementation of manufacturing capability

  • Developing and managing budgets as well as financial forecasts in line with targets

  • Liaising with different departments, including suppliers, buyers, commercial sales, the marketing team, the R&D team, the quality team, the warehouse and logistics team, etc.

  • Working with the management team to implement the company's policies and goals.

  • Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, industrial engineering, food production, food technology, or a related field

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in bakery and food or agri-food processing and manufacturing is required, as is experience in senior leadership and managerial roles.

  • excellent understanding of bakery food production, food quality standards, and health and safety regulations. good understanding of food safety standards.

  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and people management skills

  • Strong technical knowledge combined with business acumen, as well as the ability to perform well under pressure.

  • Good Thai and English communication skills are required.
