Welding Engineer

(Chonburi)

Job Description:

  • Report to Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor
  • Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving welding of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals, stainless steel and weld engineering principles
  • Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the weld quality plan including welder, welding process, welding equipment, and welding materials qualifications to international standards.
  • Improving overall processes and related issues including process development.
  • Creating process documentation.
  • Maintains a scorecard on Welding Quality Plan implementation and reports progress and issues to the facility management team as stakeholders in the process.
  • Acts as liaison between engineering and manufacturing on welding related issues.
  • Serves on or designates a delegate for all NPI teams.
  • Liaison with fabrication suppliers on welding related issues to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective systems or operations to produce quality products.
  • Works with Product Support to assist with Field Repair Procedures.
  • Conducts and/or review welding related failure analysis, Problem solving and program management.
  • Represents the facility on enterprise initiatives such as: Manufacturing practice & Engineering Specification reviews, Common Weld Quality Plan team
  • Represents the facility and enterprise on external welding related committees.
  • Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction and safety.
  • Works closely with R&D to ensure manufacturability of components prior to release.
  • Responding, Improvement and Maintain for Safety and Healthy Environment.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge Robot Welding (YASKAWA/ KUKA Model preferred)
  • Knowledge Weld Penetration testing, Weld Distractive Testing and Non-Weld Distractive Testing
  • 5 - 8 years of engineering or related experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of equipment and systems appropriate to related discipline.
  • Skill in applying engineering principles and procedures.
  • Skill in engineering design applications.
  • Good English Communication Skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Welding Engineering is preferred or related Field
