Responsibilities:
Legal
- Draft, review and negotiate agreements and other documents for commercial transactions.
- Manage external lawyers.
- Provide sound legal advice to stakeholders.
Compliance
- Monitor and communicate regulatory updates to relevant stakeholders, and conduct gap analysis to guide stakeholders on effective implementation of new regulations.
- Implement and tailor Group legal and compliance policies and procedures to meet local laws and regulations.
- Perform regular compliance risk assessments of the business and proactively identify potential areas for continuous improvement in the company's compliance performance and culture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement corrective/ improvement actions and monitor their effectiveness, in response to audit observations and compliance findings.
- Advise stakeholders on development of appropriate processes to enhance business controls, working closely with the Internal Controls Department.
- Leverage Group resources to conduct legal and compliance training and awareness programs.
Reporting
- Prepare periodic reports to Group/ local management on legal and compliance matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and/or professional degree in law.
- Professional in compliance related area is an added advantage.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of working experience in legal and/or compliance.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities and proactively assume responsibility for projects, and communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
