Job Purpose
- Develop and manage COMPANY Cross Border Trucking Product and Procurement from Door to Door within defined Trade Lanes and within Southeast Asia.
- Optimize COMPANY Cross Border Trucking Product Cost of Sales for Cross Border Trucking Product from Door to Door within Trade Lanes and within Southeast Asia.
- Position Sales and Marketing to meet sales objectives of profitable growth in Cross Border Trucking within defined Trade Lanes and within Southeast Asia.
Job Responsibilities
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (within Geographical Scope)
- Creates a competitive Cross Border Trucking service platform and concept being an
integrated part of the Asia product definition.
- Owns COMPANY trucking network from Door to door with the support of (Regional and) Country Managements.
- Participates in definition and is accountable for the implementation of the Trucking Policies, strategies, and its enforcement under the guidelines of the involved countries.
- Has overall content responsibility for COMPANY Trucking modules (within functional scope).
- Is the No. 1 sparring partner for COMPANY Southeast Asia's MDs, Country Sales Managers and their teams for Trucking product related issues.
- Procurement and Sub-Contractor Management
- Supports COMPANY procurement strategies for Cross border trucking transport related services/rates directly with the strategic partners.
- Maintains and cultivates relationships with partners at Senior and Management levels.
- Is accountable for the transportation costs Door to door partners and vendors.
- Implements and oversees standard pricing system (buying part) and its effective operations.
- Performs QBRs with vendors to ensure quality and services levels are upheld.
- Supports the definition of KPIs in the areas of Trucking to be negotiated with underlying vendors (SLA).
- Supports the definition of COMPANY guidelines and standards for the procurement and network/capacity management processes and structure and eventual KPIs in cooperation with Operations.
- Sales and Marketing /Tender Management
- Actively contributes to the quotations for Country/Regional/Global businesses (Global Target Accounts and Global Accounts).
- Is an active participant for Sales in COMPANY Southeast Asia to boost business development including attending important sales calls with Country/Regional/Global Target Accounts.
- Trade Lane Management and Reporting
- Actively participates in the target settings and trade lane strategies as agreed upon with relevant stakeholders within defined scope of responsibilities.
- Develops and manages Trade Lane reporting standard including KPIs (actual versus budgeted volumes, service launches, payload utilization, execution of carrier policy, etc.).
- Provides Regional and Country level statistics/data and outlook in the development of Cross Border Trucking for internal and external stakeholders.
- Talent Building/Management
- Assists in training, developing, motivating, and supporting COMPANY Cross Border Trucking staffs and assesses performance against business objectives where so required.
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dotted line management of the following team:
- Cross border trucking teams in the associated countries.
- Plan strategically and translate strategies into operational roadmaps, deploying resources efficiently while pushing for results.
- Take complex decisions and be accountable, demonstrating managerial courage and taking responsibility while managing risks.
- Integrate and coordinate resources across functions and boundaries, building and using networks, encouraging collaboration across country, being open to outside input and sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Conduct performance evaluation for direct report.
- Recommend hiring, firing and promotion.
- Identify and resolve personnel issues.
- Hold Monthly Management Meeting with proper documentation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Business Administration/Economics/Logistics or freight forwarding apprenticeship.
- 10 years of overall industry experience with minimum 8 years in management positions.
- Solid understanding of trucking business (Documentary requirements and process, operations, ground transportation, customs brokerage, etc.).
- Procurement experience including contract negotiations.
- Experience in Sales role preferred.
- Prior experience with a top trucking company.
ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel will be required (up to 50%) in support of the position's responsibilities.
