Job proposes:
Communicate with the Vessel Manager (British).
Provide Technical advice and direction to both offshore and on shore personnel.
Operational and maintenance status of company vessels.
Viability and cost of any vessel maintenance or modification activity.
Scheduling of repairs and maintenance activities.
Preparing costing and schedules for vessel modification and refits.
Working to given budgets and schedules for vessel modification and refits.
Responsibilities includes but are not limited to:
Monitoring and maintaining the validity of all trading, class and statutory certificates in conjunction with the Master and Superintendent.
Monitoring development and changes in the requirements of International rules and regulations, flag state and local bodies, e.g. IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL etc.
Provide technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration through implementation.
Reporting of all aspects of shipboard repair and maintenance, technical and financial matters.
Compiling of dry-dock and repair specifications and subsequent monitoring.
Liaise with projects to provide advice concerning:
Vessel modification
Liaise with vessel to ensure:
Maintenance is being carried out a required company standard.
Adequate technical advice is available.
That adequate spares are available.
Monitor and advice the shipboard management performance.
Dry dockings:
Compiling of dry-dock and repair specifications and subsequent monitoring
Liaise with vessel management and contractors to ensure comprehensive dry dock work scopes.
Liaise with classification societies and flag state authorities to ensure:
Vessel certification remains in order.
Ensure accuracy of the technical documents within the Safety Management System.
Provide new and updated procedures that reflect operational practices.
Liaise with stores or third parties to ensure:
Timely forwarding of critical spares and equipment.
Act as a specialist: in this field of expertise, he shall apply the following techniques, to enhance the efficiency of the fleet.
Agree and set standards for the specialization that are cost effective and safe.
Assist in the implementation of the standards.
Monitor the outcomes.
Initiate improvements by redefining the standards as appropriate.
Investigate and collate insurance claims.
Comply with QHSE System.
Any Other duties that from time to time may be delegated by the vessel manager or management team.
Qualifications / Skills:
Previous experiences is a must.
Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields. / or Marine Engineering Background.
Working experience at least 5 years.
Ability to interact with individuals in a cross- cultural environment.
Effective communication, team working and organizational skills / good interpersonal skills.
Good English communication - written & spoken.
Computer Skills: PC proficiency required; MS Windows, MS Office, Adobe
Specific Knowledge & Skills: Offshore operations, Vessel Management
