Mold Designer
(Rayong)
Job Description:
- The Injection Tooling Leader main goals are to ensure plant's New Product Introduction and production volume delivery objectives through tooling design; monitor Injection Tool Design KPIs and take action when they don't meet standard; and train and prepare team.
- You will be working closely with several departments including Production and Quality for production & NPI performance, product development & qualification, and many other initiatives. You will also be in constant contact with the global engineering team.
- Lead Injection Tool Design
- Be responsible training and support evaluation of work force
- Support tool design and construction delivering proper documentation (drawing, part list)
- Manage Tool Design KPIs such as efficiency, quality rate, and tool design output
- Design tools and fixtures when necessary
- Partner with Tool Shop to provide support, improve Tool Shop efficiency and prioritize tool design scheduling
- Evaluate 3D and 2D drawings before delivering them to the Tool Shop
- Benchmark the Technical Offices process with the other geographies and identify/put in place the best practices
- Partner with the Quality and Production teams for defect troubleshooting
- Work in a close relation with NPI Team for release of new models' prioritization
- Comply with the local and group policies
- Comply with the ISO certifications and other group systems
- Contribute to the external/internal audits
Qualifications:
- Professional formation as Tool 3D & 2D designer and mechanics
- Good Interpersonal Skills with the right communication level including a good spoken English (intermediate level)
- Minimum of 3-5 years working experience in Product Engineering, designing injection molds, with a demonstrating process technical expertise and analytical skills
- Experience designing simple and complex injection molds with many mechanisms, molds with hot runner and hot sprue, molds for manual and automated extraction, single and multi-cavity molds, molds for insert molding; experience designing molds for products with high aesthetical & cosmetics appeal is a must;
- Leadership experience
- Experience working directly or close to a Tool Shop
- Experience with 3D software PTC Creo and/or PDM software Windchill will be considered a plus
- Strong approach for problem solving
- Time management
